In contrast to METACOM 8, versions 1-7 were not yet delivered with a license key. In order to be able to offer updates for all METACOM versions, two different update processes would have to be set up. Updates of version 1-7 would have to be done in two steps, would be particularly time-consuming and could not be offered at the reduced update price.
Is it worth buying METACOM 9 Desktop at full price if I use METACOM 7 (or older)?
We think so: Compared to METACOM 7, the number of symbols in METACOM 9 Desktop has doubled. While MetaSearch in METACOM 7 only offered a search function, version 9 provides extensive editing functions.
